1. Coaching techniques and tools

Having a first basic approach to the whole scope of coaching, both individually and within organizations, is essential for a better understanding of all its components. That’s why, in this first module, you will learn about the history of coaching, the philosophy and standards of the International Coach Federation and the benefits of coaching, among other things.

As the International Coaching Federation (ICF) determines, it’s crucial to be able to manage a whole set of competencies. In this module, the 11 ICF competencies will be discussed in depth.

The Coach must have a set of tools that allow him/her to carry out the coaching methodology in an effective and useful way in order to achieve the desired results. Some of the aspects that will be addressed in this module are the integral model, the perceptive positions, the relational skills and the tool map, among others.

Emotions take on a special significance in coaching, which is why the coach must know the best techniques to develop emotional intelligence skills, help manage stress and improve tolerance to uncertainty. In this module, students will also learn about the contributions of neurology to the field.

Neurolinguistic programming (NLP) facilitates the development of skills to change habits, behaviours and limiting beliefs, eliminating the most unconscious brakes involved in emotional management and, therefore, providing decisive and useful tools to carry out successful coaching processes. This module will cover aspects such as the interrelation between NLP and coaching, anchoring and limiting beliefs.

This type of coaching focuses on the person as a whole. The essence of this subject is to help people set goals, recognize their weaknesses and overcome them. Some of the aspects that will be covered in this module are diagnostic tools, the generation of SMART objectives, resources to break down resistance barriers and intuition in coaching, among others.

2. Types of coaching according to the areas of work

The coaching approach helps leaders make decisions that are more aligned with their core values and their life purpose or vision. At the same time, it connects the leader in a more genuine way with the people around him/her. In this module, students will learn about authentic leadership, coaching in talent development and leadership styles and assessment, among others.

The people and teams that make up organizations are key to achieving the results expected, but this process must be carried out from a space of harmony and connection. Team coaching seeks to facilitate this space from the awareness and appreciative inquiry of what happens under the surface. This module will cover aspects such as facilitation and coaching skills, the different models of team diagnosis and practical cases of team coaching, among others.

Master's Final Project and Additional Activities

This program is designed to complement the content of the thematic blocks with the necessary training to achieve their assimilation. Said activities are conceived from a triple perspective: technical assistance, personal support and individual and group challenges that are necessary to achieve the objectives set.

Pre-Masters Bootcamps

The student will have the opportunity to take 3 Pre-Master Bootcamps that will open progressively and can be taken at any time. Once these activities are successfully completed, students will receive a certificate of completion.

Introductory Workshop | Campus Training
Before the start of the academic year, students will have the opportunity to attend an introductory workshop to the Campus, where they will be provided with the necessary tools and knowledge for the correct use of the platform during the academic year.

Professional Development Program (PDP)
Two weeks before the start of the academic year, students will be able to participate in a professional development program where they will work hand in hand with a teacher to develop different skills such as time management, productivity, stress management and emotional intelligence. Upon completion of the workshop, and provided that the relevant activities have been carried out, a certificate of completion can be obtained.

At the end of the programme, participants will submit a Master’s thesis as a group. This project may have 1 of the 3 following possibilities:

  1. Development and organizational transformation project.
  2. Research work on any of the aspects seen throughout the programme.
  3. Exceptionally: an individual coaching process.

The Lifelong learning Master's Degree in Executive Coaching and Leadership is complemented by conferences and seminars throughout the course. These additional activities are carried out by renowned professionals in business management who present their experiences and practical cases through videoconferences.

Bootcamp: Coaching skills practices

In order to consolidate all the knowledge that the students will have acquire throughout the programme, this bootcamp will help them enjoy a space for experiential learning in which they will be able to practice all the concepts, skills and tools acquired.

Bootcamp: ICF Certification

For those who are interested in obtaining the ICF (International Coaching Federation) certification, students will be able to attend a 10-hour coaching supervision course with a mentor-coach, which is one of the requirements demanded by the federation in order to obtain the ACC (Associated Certified Coach) credential. The cost of these supervision sessions is not included in the price of the Master.

Company visits

During the program, students will have the opportunity to attend synchronous videoconferences with experts in each area. They will share their experiences and best practices in their sector.

Webinars

Most of the training is done asynchronously, which means that this exchange of knowledge is done through a platform that allows sharing written texts without the need for people to be connected at the same time. Additionally, in each of the modules, synchronous sessions or 'webinars' are organized, where all participants are connected at the same time through an application, which allows the exchange of knowledge in 'real time'.

Students taking this Master at OBS Business School will have the opportunity to prepare for the Scrum Certifications (Product Owner & Scrum Master) *.

Diploma

After successfully finishing the Master's degree, and having completed the relevant procedures, you will receive the Master's degree from OBS Business School. In addition, and provided that you meet the established academic and administrative requirements, you will obtain a Lifelong learning Master's degree from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB).

In order to obtain it, you must have a university degree. In the exceptional case of not having this degree and having passed the Master's evaluations, you will obtain a Higher University Diploma from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB).

Admission Process

The fundamental aim of our admissions process is to ensure the suitability of candidates. All participants should get the most out of this learning experience, through a context in which it is possible to develop long-term relationships with classmates, faculty and alumni.

After completing the application form for one of our programmes, you will receive an e-mail with information about the School and a member of the Admissions Department will contact you to start the admission process. Once you have successfully passed the personal interview, you must submit all the required documentation to continue the admission process and certify that you meet the requirements of the student profile. After the Admissions Committee, if it is positive, you will be able to register and enrol in the programme you have applied for.
