Daniel Iturbe Oliva's testimonial about the Leadership Workshop
Daniel Iturbe Oliva, entrepreneur, shares his experience in the Leadership Workshop. Daniel studied the Master in Marketing and Commercial Management at OBS.
"The circular leadership model is very helpful; it enables us to comprehensively address both ends of the spectrum when leading, while also weighing the ensuing consequences. Embracing this innovative approach has not only broadened my perspective but also empowered me to shed preconceived notions about effective leadership."
I am from Mexico, I took the Master in Marketing and Commercial Management, and I am currently looking for new opportunities and launching a couple of family businesses.
Tell us about your career
With over 15 years of extensive professional experience, I spent 11 years honing my skills within the same company, where I progressively advanced to the position of Regional Sales Manager for Mexico and Central America in the residential and non-residential solar protection sector. Now, I am actively seeking new opportunities at a regional or LATAM level. Concurrently, I am deeply involved in two ventures with my wife: RHOLO persianas, specializing in solar protection solutions, and Xiótola, our endeavor supplying handcrafted ceramic plates to restaurants. The knowledge and expertise acquired during my master's degree have significantly influenced and informed our ventures, contributing to their success.
Mainly because leadership is an area of self-improvement that many companies are interested in nowadays. Motivated by this trend and my personal commitment to self-improvement, I actively enrolled in the Workshop.
I firmly believe that continuous learning and skill enhancement are essential to navigating the challenges and transitions encountered both in our personal and professional domains. Leadership prowess isn't confined solely to the workplace; it extends to our personal lives as well. I advocate for cultivating leadership qualities internally, as I firmly believe that becoming a better leader from within radiates outward, fostering positive impacts in various spheres of life.
What did you learn from this Workshop?
I've gained very important insights into identifying my behaviors, fostering self-awareness and refining attitudes or behaviors to drive personal improvement and inspire others within my work team. The Workshop has provided me with contemporary knowledge, enabling me to address the evolving demands of our work teams with up-to-date information.
Absolutely, the circular leadership model is very helpful; it enables us to comprehensively address both ends of the spectrum when leading, while also weighing the ensuing consequences. Embracing this innovative approach has not only broadened my perspective but also empowered me to shed preconceived notions about effective leadership.the circular leadership model is very helpful, it allows us to consider both sides or ends when leading and the consequences, this new model (for me) has opened my eyes and above all, my mind to be able to unlearn what I thought was good leadership.
I've discovered the power of mastering my emotions. By nurturing an internal awareness, I gain a clearer perspective on external situations, enabling me to make more informed decisions. The invaluable lessons on providing constructive feedback and navigating challenging scenarios have also been essential to me.
It was such a memorable experience, and I would absolutely recommend it to everyone. You know an experience sticks with you when it really hits your emotions, and dthat's exactly what happened to me during this workshop. When Josep and Pau unveiled the concept of the full circle of leadership, it felt like a revelation. It provided me with a roadmap for realigning my leadership approach when it's not yielding the desired results. The surge of emotion I felt in that moment is proof that this memory will linger in my mind for a long time.
My experience at OBS has been incredibly enriching. Through the program, I've had the opportunity to connect with individuals from all around the world, fostering not just professional relationships, but also deep personal connections. Many of these connections have blossomed into lasting friendships, with fellow students who supported each other through the challenges of the Master's program. As an alumni, I deeply appreciate the ongoing support and additional services provided by OBS. This continued assistance is invaluable, as it ensures that we remain well-equipped to make informed decisions in our professional lives.
Moreover, the double degree offered by OBS undoubtedly provides a competitive edge in the job market, thanks to the institution's esteemed reputation.
