Our dean moderated an interesting conversation on the economic outlook in Latin America

Dr. Casilda Güell, Dean of OBS Business School, has once again participated in this valuable forum, which aims to analyze the economic and social challenges and opportunities faced by Ibero-American countries. The latest edition of the Meeting of Multilatin Companies took place on July 10th, 11th, and 12th at Menéndez Pelayo University in Santander.

These sessions, co-organized by the Ibero-American Business Foundation, the Ibero-American General Secretariat, and the Secretariat of State for Ibero-America, the Caribbean, and Spanish in the World, are crucial for providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the social and economic relations between the European Union and Latin America, with a particular focus on the role of businesses.

In this ninth edition, Dr. Casilda Güell served as the moderator for the roundtable discussion "Latin America, Economic Outlook (I): Opportunities and Reform Agenda," held on Thursday, July 11th. This engaging conversation also featured the invaluable contributions of Manuel Aguilera Verduzco, Director General of MAPFRE’s Research Service; José Manuel González-Páramo, former Executive Board Member of the ECB and the Bank of Spain; Ángel Melguizo, Partner at Argia-GT&E; Silvia Hernández Martín, Director of Economic Analysis at Telefónica; Rafael Doménech, Head of Economic Analysis at BBVA; and Marisol de Francisco, LATAM Expert at Banco Santander's Research Service.

Over the course of these three days, students, speakers, and other attendees engaged in discussions and debates on topics such as legal security, the various opportunities presented by digitalization, the senior economy, and trade integration, among many others. The importance of fostering resilient public-private partnerships was reaffirmed, aiming to harness the immense economic and social potential of the Ibero-American region.
