May López, professor at OBS Business School, attends the Madrid Car Experience
OBS brings sustainability to the Salón del Automóvil in Madrid
From the 22nd to the 26th of May 2024 took place the Madrid Car Experience at the IFEMA MADRID exhibition centre. The Salón del Automóvil in Madrid provided a great meeting point, allowing attendees to engage with brands, explore the latest car models, test drive them and find out about the latest technologies first hand.
This year's Madrid Car Experience welcomed May López, professor of the Master in CSR and Sustainable Leadership at OBS Business School.
May took part in the round table organised by Car and Driver, a leading publication in the automotive sector. At the event, a group of experts discussed current issues related to the motoring world, such as electric mobility and its goals for 2030 at national, European and global level. In addition, they reviewed the latest developments in technology, batteries and the industry's current challenges.
Jorge Alcalde, Director of Car and Driver and Esquire, moderated the session, which featured the participation of Iñigo Trasmonte, Head of Marketing and Press BYD Turismos España, Javier del Val, Head of Electric Product at Hyundai España and José Carlos Luque, Digital Director of Car and Driver.
The need for electrification
May López, professor at OBS Business School and Development Director at the platform Companies for Sustainable Mobility, underlined the need for electrification of the motor vehicle fleet as the main environmental measure to reduce pollution on the urban roads as a State measure. She also highlighted the global environmental concern of the unstoppable carbon footprint and how measures such as this one can have a significant impact on its mitigation.
Roundtable audience members also had the opportunity to engage directly with experts on the future of the motor industry, addressing concerns about the adoption of emerging technologies, the environmental impact of electric vehicles and the regulatory policies that could influence the industry in the coming years.
