Tell us briefly about you

My name is Carolina Lula. I am from Brazil, but after moving to Seville with my family many years ago, I have developed a strong connection with both Seville and Spain. As a result, I can confidently say that my heart is both Brazilian and Spanish.

I have completed the Executive MBA at OBS Business School. I chose this program to strengthen my knowledge in related areas, expand my network, and, most importantly, explore new career opportunities different from those I had previously.

Tell us briefly about your career

At the beginning of this service, I was working as an Assistant Hotel Manager at a hotel chain. I am now preparing to embark on a new professional challenge with a different company.

Why did you decide to join the service?

I decided to enroll in Executive Coaching because, as a junior manager facing the challenge of handling multiple tasks and leading a team, I have experienced difficulties in orienting myself and leading effectively.

What skills have you identified throughout this service and how have you strengthened them?

During the Executive Coaching sessions I have identified that one of my key abilities is my capacity to take on a significant workload and handle long periods of effort and challenges. However, I have also learned that I tend to struggle with setting boundaries and saying "no," which can lead me to neglect other priorities. To strengthen this skill, I am now aware of the importance of balancing work with rest and personal life, and I am working on learning to effectively communicate my limits in the workplace.

How has coach Mercè Serrabassa helped you to progress? What have you learned from her?

Thanks to my mentor, Mercè Serrabassa, I have developed key skills in self-assessment and self-awareness. Her ability to read people and reflect me like a mirror allowed me to see my strengths and areas for improvement clearly. Thanks to the insightful questions she asked at the right time, she motivated me to step out of my comfort zone and identify aspects of my development that I had not previously recognized.

How has your experience been in the Executive Coaching?

The Executive Coaching sessions have been profoundly transformative, allowing me to deeply introspect, helping me to reconnect with both myself and my role as a Manager. I have been able to identify details that were biased by everyday factors. Mercè taught me the importance of being aware of our polarities as human beings without letting them dominate us.

Given the motivation I found to change my position and company, as well as all the learning I received, I would recommend this service 100% to any student.

What has your time at OBS meant for you?

My time at OBS has been fundamental for my professional and personal development. I decided to enrol in the EMBA because I saw the need to update my knowledge and continue learning, but especially because I was looking for a transition to a new professional direction.

Three months into the MBA, a technology company contacted me to join their team in the project area, and I am happy to say that this is my new professional challenge! Both OBS Business School and the Executive Coaching with Mercè have been fundamental to start this new stage of my career.
